Child Care Aware of Washington Staff Scholarship

A scholarship program for Child Care Aware of Washington Early Achievers staff

This scholarship is for regional employees of Child Care Aware of Washington only. If you are not a CCA of WA staff member, please do not fill out this application.

The Child Care Aware of Washington Staff Scholarship is dedicated to supporting the professional development of Child Care Aware of Washington Early Achievers staff. It is designed to support staff in meeting the minimum education requirements for their positions, as well as to help build and support the growth of Washington's early learning system. Staff may choose to earn either an associate or a bachelor's degree, or a stackable certificate, in early childhood education or a similar, approved field at a community, technical or four-year college program in Washington.

Please note: submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Scholarships are awarded based upon funding availability.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Tuition - Up to $9,000 per contract year
  • Books - Up to $500 per contract year


The CCA of WA Staff Scholarship covers tuition, and most fees associated with tuition, at any WA State academic institution. Tuition is paid directly to the college, and is based on the amount charged for tuition each quarter or semester. Books for approved coursework can be reimbursed to the scholar up to $500 per scholarship contract. Scholars are responsible for the cost of attendance beyond the maximums and benefits of the scholarship contract.



To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a CCA of WA employee with a position focusing on Early Achievers duties
  • Be pursuing either an associate or bachelor's degree, or a stackable certificate, in early childhood education or a similar, approved field at a WA State academic institution

Priority will be given to direct-service staff who need to meet the basic education requirements of their position (i.e. Technical Assistance Specialists and Coaches).


Scholar Responsibilities

  • Complete a minimum of 15 academic credits per BA scholarship contract, or a minimum of 12 academic credits for an AA scholarship contract
  • Remain with current employer for a minimum of six months after completion of one-year scholarship contract
  • Adhere to WA Scholarships policies, procedures and contract

Scholars are strongly encouraged to apply for Financial Aid in conjunction with the CCA of WA Staff Scholarship.


Additional Application Requirement

If offered a scholarship, you must submit unofficial transcripts for all colleges and/or universities attended within 15 days of our scholarship offer.

Application Deadlines

All scholarship applications must be complete and submitted by the dates listed below to be considered for the corresponding term. Only complete applications can be considered. Once you submit your application it will be forwarded to the authorized facility representative you indicated on your application. Your application will be reviewed by CCA of WA Scholarships at the end of the month it is received, after it has been approved by the authorized facility representative on your application. Scholarship notifications are sent the first week of the month following the month the application was received by CCA of WA Scholarships. We do not reimburse for terms not covered by the scholarship contract dates.
